EMERGING ISSUES
CYBERSECURITY
Health centers handle some of the most sensitive information in their communities: patient health records, financial data, and personal identifying information. As cyber threats targeting the healthcare sector continue to grow in frequency and sophistication, protecting that information is both an operational and ethical responsibility.
Protecting Health Centers and the Patients They Serve
A cyberattack or data breach can disrupt care delivery, compromise patient trust, and create significant financial and legal risk. Many health centers operate with limited IT resources and face real and evolving threats that require proactive planning and ongoing attention.
We strengthen health centers’ ability to protect patient information and maintain secure systems. Our work includes Security Risk Assessment (SRA) support, development of privacy and security policies and procedures, workforce training, and shared learning opportunities to enhance cybersecurity readiness and resilience across the network.
