Waikiki Health is recruiting for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling to provide behavioral health services for adults.  The LCSW serves as a behavioral health consultant on the primary care treatment team and provider on the behavioral health team where s/he identifies and addresses the special needs of target populations (i.e., homeless, substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illnesses) via the completion of diagnostic evaluations, provision of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, and facilitation of referrals to substance abuse programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a Masters in clinical social work and be licensed to practice in Hawaii with a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling (CSAC). 

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

Working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidenced-based psychotherapy treatments for medical and mental health conditions.

High level of efficiency in conducting accurate clinical assessments of substance abuse disorders and other mental health conditions in primary care and outreach settings.

High level of comfort working with the substance abuse and homeless populations along with facilitating the referral process to substance abuse programs in the community. 

High level of comfort in working within a team of medical providers using a consultative style.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in managing patient crises in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
