Review Process

In reviewing training proposals (for individuals) the following will be considered:

  • The applicant’s skills, number of years of experience, and career goals related to: supporting women during pregnancy, childbirth and afterwards. 
  • Previous training in this area and any certification.
  • The type of training, when and where it will be held, and cost of attendance.  The amount of the costs to be covered by the applicant.
  • What the applicant plans to do with the knowledge gained and in what communities will it be applied.

In reviewing classes/workshop proposals (sponsoring classes/workshop) the following will be considered:

  • The applicant’s/organization’s leadership, number of years of experience and skills related to supporting women during pregnancy, childbirth and afterwards. 
  • The type of previous training that the trainer has in the topic(s) related to the class/workshop.  The type of certification the trainer has.
  • Goals of the classes/workshop, target audience, when and where to be held, and cost of attendance. 
  • The portions of the costs covered by other sources.

In reviewing education materials/public information (production of) proposals the following will be considered:

  • The type of materials/information for dissemination including reading level and quantity to be produced.
  • The target population for distribution.
  • The amount of the costs covered by other sources.
