teleconferencing The HPCA eHealth Program is steadfast in helping the Community Health Centers and Native Hawaiian Health Systems prepare for the effective, practical, and seamless use of health information technology (HIT) in clinical, administrative and educational settings.

eHealth Focus Areas

  1. Telemedicine – clinical applications such as store-and-forward web-based technology and video teleconferencing increase access to specialty care particularly for CHCs that are remotely located.
  2. Video-teleconferencing (VTC) and bridging technologies – The HPCA hosts a bridge connecting CHC video-teleconferencing units for clinical, educational and administrative events.
  3. Health Information Systems – The HPCA provides technical assistance in health information technology planning to include electronic practice management systems, electronic health records, clinical tracking systems and dental systems.
  4. Health Information Exchange - The HPCA supports the exchange of health information between care providers using technology for improved continuity of care. (See Holomua Project)
  5. Health Information Technology Capacity Building – HPCA offers IT training, workshops, and meetings to promote understanding and use of Health IT.
