In an article submitted by AlohaCare in the Honolulu Advertiser, "After nearly three years spent securing $500,000 in government, private and foundation grants, Waimanalo Health Center has opened a brand new 1,275- square foot dental clinic, providing much needed dental care to an estimated 4,500 area residents living in Waimanalo and Ko'olaupoko.

For Waimanalo Health Center patients, the new Waimanalo Smiles! Dental Clinic represents the opportunity to access affordable health and dental care, all in one location. Up until now, residents requiring emergency dental services had limited choices for treatment. For many of Waimanalo Health Center's underinsured and uninsured patients, receiving emergency dental care meant traveling to another community health center such as Kokua Kalihi Valley, Kalihi-Palama Health Center, or Waianae Comprehensive Coast Health Center."
