Health insurance can be expensive and, even for those who have some kind of insurance coverage, getting access to care is often a challenge. Whether you live in a crowded, urban area where physicians are no longer accepting new patients or in a remote, rural community where there are few if any providers, insurance coverage doesn’t guarantee that you can receive care when you need it.

Unlike many for-profit providers, CHCs accept and care for all patients, regardless of their insurance status. CHCs don’t turn patients away because they are uninsured. CHCs don’t stop accepting new patients simply because the demand for their services is so high.
