Technical Assistance
Training
One of the principal responsibilities of the Hawai‘i Primary Care Association is ongoing administration of technical assistance, training, and workforce development programs to support the statewide network of Community Health Centers. These include routine training on:
- Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting
- Clinical Quality Improvement
- Community Health Worker Development
- Emergency preparedness
Peer Mentoring
HPCA also hosts and facilitates regular meetings of peer mentoring groups that foster networking, shared learning, and lateral technical assistance opportunities for staff from Community Health Centers. The following peer groups are convened on a regular basis:
- Chief Financial Officers,
- Behavioral Health providers,
- Dental Directors,
- Medical Directors,
- Quality Improvement Coordinators,
- Human Resource Managers,
- CHC Board Chairs,
- Billing Managers
- Electronic Practice Management and Electronic Health Record Managers
Peer mentoring has helped to make CHC staff more effective in their jobs, increased job satisfaction, reduced isolation typically faced by rural providers, and decreased our dependence on mainland resources.
